日本海が一望できる「衣毘須神社」Ebisu shrine “In" the sea!

衣毘須神社は宮ケ島という岩礁の上にあり、美しい日本海に囲まれているのが特徴です。

また神社までの参道は、潮の満ち引きにより状況が大きく変わり、
大潮の時は参道が消えてしまうことから、「山陰のモンサンミッシェル」と呼ばれています！！

Ebisu shrine is located on the reef which is surround by Japan Sea.
The path to the shrine depends on rise and fall of the tide,
which means that the path disappears at the time of the rise.
That’s why it is called Mont Saint-Michel of Sanin district.

この神社は江戸時代に建てられたと言われており、コトシロヌシと他四柱の神を祀っています。
コトシロヌシは海の神、商業の神、釣りの神として松江の美保神社が本宮ですが、
ここでは恵比寿神として信仰されているそうです。

Ebisu shrine is constructed in Edo era(17c-19c).
It worships Kotoshiro-nushi and other four gods.
Kotoshironushi is the god of the sea, business and fishing.
The main shrine is in Miho shrine of Matsue.

そしてこの神社の屋根には赤い色の瓦が使われています。
この赤い瓦は、石見地方で生産されている石州瓦で、日本三大瓦の１つに数えられます。中央のシャチホコにも注目してみてください！

鳥居から見える猫島は猫が背中を丸めているように見えることからそう呼ばれているそうです。
猫島の後ろには日本海も映るので、写真撮影には最適です。

この神社は満潮時には渡れなくなるので、潮見表を見てから行くことをオススメします！（下にリンクを貼っています）
潮が満ちている時に、渡ってそのままぼんやりしていると帰り道がなくなることがあるので、充分注意してください！

The roof of the shrine is used with red fascinating roof tiles.
It is one of the local production, Sekishu-tile.
It is one of the tree famous tiles in Japan.
When the tide rises, you cannot reach the shrine,
so check the time table of the ride out!　(link below)
