津和野の太鼓谷稲成神社 Shrine with many red gates

津和野の町では、木々の緑の中に浮かぶ赤の美しいコントラストを見るでしょう。

そこは、日本五大稲荷の一つ、太鼓谷稲成神社です。
今から約２５０年前、津和野藩の第７代藩主である亀井矩貞（かめいのりさだ）は人々の平和な暮らしを願いました。
そして、京都の伏見稲荷大社（もっとも大きい稲荷神社）から神仏が来臨して、太鼓稲成はできました。

About 250 years ago, Kamei Norisada (7^th feudal lord of Tsuwano) wished people peaceful lives,
and God came from Fushimi-Inari-Shrine in Kyoto (It is the largest Inari-Shrine) , then Taikodani-Inari-Shrine was built in Tsuwano. 

太鼓谷を直訳すると、Drum Valley　です。
かつて人々が時刻を知らせるために、太鼓を鳴らしていたことが由来しています。
また、太鼓谷稲成神社は、日本人の平和を願う気持ちで建てられたため、願望成就の力が強いといわれています。

太鼓谷稲成の一番の魅力は千本の鳥居です。
まるでトンネルのように連なる鳥居をくぐるたびに、あなたは神様に近づいていくのです。
さらに、鳥居の色にも注目してください。
かつて日本人は本当にたくさんの伝統色をつくりました。
太鼓谷稲成神社の鳥居は、その中のひとつである“朱色”で塗られています。

“Taikodani” means “Drum Valley” directly, the name derived from the fact that people were playing the Japanese drum to inform the time at once.

Every time you pass through a tori like a tunnel, you will approach God.
